A carrier performance report built on billing accuracy
Example: a carrier billing $314.50 ex GST over your approved rates in a quarter has a different cost from the one on its rate card. If nobody adds that up, the cheapest quote keeps winning the work.
Carrier reviews tend to run on memory and a few bad invoices. Each carrier's billed against expected, in dollars, gives you something to put on the table.
Billing accuracy by carrier
Margin rollups opens By carrier. Each carrier gets a row with its consignments, what customers were charged, the expected cost from your approved rates, what the carrier billed, the variance on invoiced consignments, freight absorbed and margin. Filter by ship date, sort any column and export the table as CSV.
What each carrier has credited
The Recovered tab in Recoveries shows Recovered by carrier, counted from imported credit notes only. The Claims tab shows each claim's status, and flags a carrier that rejects the same cause on three or more claim lines.
What this report is not
It covers billing and margin. Forensik does not give carriers a score, and it does not track transit times or delivery performance. Where a variance came from your own data, such as a carton size that was wrong, fix the data and the figure follows. It says what was billed, not why a carrier billed it.
Worked example, with example numbers
Example numbers: two carriers over one quarter, Carrier A and Carrier B.
Carrier A: billed $18,420.00 ex GST, expected $18,105.50 ex GST, variance $314.50 ex GST, recovered $186.40 ex GST.
Carrier B: billed $9,630.00 ex GST, expected $9,612.40 ex GST, variance $17.60 ex GST, recovered $0.00 ex GST.
That leaves $128.10 ex GST with Carrier A still to claim or to explain. That is the figure to take to the next carrier review.
Questions
- Is there a separate report card screen?
- No. The figures live in Margin rollups, By carrier, and on the Recovered tab. The rollup exports as CSV if you want one document for a carrier review.
- Does it rank carriers?
- No. It shows the same columns for each carrier and you can sort them. Forensik is neutral on carriers and describes what was billed, not why.
- Which plan is it on?
- Margin rollups, Invoice audit and Recoveries are on every plan.
