Carrier rate card management, with the impact shown before go-live

Example: a 6.5% rate rise adds $3.38 ex GST to an average $52.00 ex GST consignment. On 1,200 consignments in 90 days that is $4,056.00 ex GST you absorb if your prices stay where they were.

The new card usually goes into a shared folder. Pricing keeps running off the old one, and nobody sees the rise until margin has already dropped.

Upload

Import postcode zones, weight bands and surcharges as CSV or Excel. Map the columns once and the mapping is saved for that carrier. Ready-made templates cover Toll IPEC, Hunter Express and Bluestar, and a standard Forensik rate card covers a carrier with no file.

On Growth and above, the Rate Card Agent reads a PDF rate card into a draft for you to check.

Impact before go-live

Every import saves a draft that changes nothing. The review runs the checks, back-tests the new rates on recently invoiced consignments, and shows the rates against the version in force and the impact on your last 90 days.

Approval

Nothing prices an order or audits an invoice until it is approved. The current version stays live until the new one takes effect, so a carrier is never left without rates. You can approve a past date: expected costs since then are re-worked, and prices already charged never change.

Second-person review is on Growth and above. On Starter, Submit for approval publishes the version in one step, still checked and logged.

Change log

Every step is written to the version's history: who did what and when, with each field's old and new value. Rejected versions stay on record with the reason.

Worked example, with example numbers

Example numbers: a carrier sends a new card with base rates up 6.5%, taking effect in two weeks. The average consignment in your last 90 days had an expected cost of $52.00 ex GST.

The new rate adds $3.38 ex GST to that average, taking it to $55.38 ex GST.

Across 1,200 consignments, that is $4,056.00 ex GST to pass on or absorb. You see it before you approve the card, and you can change a markup with the same effective date.

Questions

Which file types can I upload?
CSV, .xlsx and .xls, up to 10 MB and 50,000 rows a file. Workbooks with macros or a password are not accepted. PDF rate cards are read by the Rate Card Agent on Growth and above.
Can I upload and approve my own rate card?
Yes. The person who uploaded a version may approve it, and both steps are recorded under their names.
Which carriers work?
Any carrier with a rate card. The column mapper reads the layout you have, and the rating settings cover per consignment or per carton, the cubic factor and how weight breaks apply.
