Forensik Labs Pty Ltd (ABN to be confirmed), trading as Forensik
Terms version 2026-10-09
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between Forensik Labs Pty Ltd (ABN to be confirmed), trading as Forensik (“we”, “us”), and the business that signs up (“you”). The person who accepts them confirms they can bind that business. They cover the Forensik web app, its connectors and any support we give.
Forensik is a business tool. It is offered to businesses, not to individuals for personal use.
2. What Forensik does
Forensik works out what each freight consignment should cost from your carrier rate cards and fuel levies, applies the markup rules you set, prices freight at your checkout where you switch that on, and audits your carrier invoices line by line against what you should have been charged. It records the results in a freight ledger and helps you prepare recovery claims for overcharges.
We are not a carrier, freight forwarder or broker. We do not book, move or insure freight, and we do not send claims to carriers for you: you decide whether to send each claim. Expected costs and audit results depend on the rate cards, fuel levies, product weights and dimensions and order data you give us. Check them before you rely on them, and confirm final charges with your carrier.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the people you invite, for keeping logins secure and for everything done under your organisation. Tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused. You must give us accurate details, including your business name, address and ABN for tax invoices.
4. Free trial
New organisations get a 14-day free trial with the features of the Growth plan. No card is needed to start. At the end of the trial you choose a plan to keep using Forensik. If you do not, your organisation drops to the limits and features of the Starter plan: anything above them becomes read only, nothing is deleted, and you can still export your data (see section 15).
5. Plans and prices
Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST. The current self-serve plans are:
- Starter: A$349 a month, including 1,000 audited consignments a month.
- Growth: A$849 a month, including 5,000 audited consignments a month.
- Scale: A$1,950 a month, including 20,000 audited consignments a month.
- Enterprise: above 20,000 consignments a month, priced by separate contract.
Each plan’s limits on carriers, stores and users and its features are shown on our pricing page and in the app when you choose it. Invoice audit and Recoveries are in every plan.
An audited consignment is one carrier connote in a calendar month (Perth time), counted once whatever its number of parcels. A return on its own connote counts. A re-ship counts as a new consignment. A voided label that never appears on a carrier invoice does not count.
We may change prices or plans for future billing periods. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email of a price increase that affects you, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
6. Overage and caps
When you audit more consignments than your plan includes in a month:
- Starter: A$0.30 per consignment above 1,000. Overage stops at the point where your bill would pass the Growth price (2,667 consignments), so you never pay more than the next plan up for that month. From the next billing period you move to Growth.
- Growth: A$0.18 per consignment above 5,000. Overage stops at the point where your bill would pass the Scale price (11,117 consignments), so you never pay more than the next plan up for that month. From the next billing period you move to Scale.
- Scale: no overage. It includes 20,000 consignments a month; above that we will contact you about an Enterprise contract.
We never stop auditing your invoices because you have reached a limit.
7. Billing, GST and annual plans
Subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, monthly or annually as you choose. Overage is billed in arrears after the month it relates to. GST at 10% is added to every amount and shown separately on your tax invoice.
An annual plan costs 10 times the monthly price and is paid up front for 12 months. Overage on an annual plan is still billed monthly.
Our founding offer gives the first 20 organisations we accept 20% off the monthly price for as long as they stay subscribed without a break. It applies to monthly billing only and cannot be combined with annual billing.
If a payment fails we will tell you and retry. If it is still unpaid after the grace period shown in the app, your organisation becomes read only until the account is paid.
8. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time in the app or by emailing us. A monthly plan ends at the end of the month already paid for. An annual plan ends at the end of the 12 months already paid for. You keep access until then.
9. Refunds
Fees already paid are not refundable, including for part of a billing period, except where these terms say otherwise or the law requires it.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: use Forensik only for your own freight, only with data you are allowed to give us, and never to get at another organisation’s data or to harm the service.
11. Your data
You own the data you put into Forensik: your orders, products, rate cards, invoices, ledger and claims. You give us permission to host, copy and process it only to run the service for you, support you, keep it secure and meet the law. We do not sell your data.
Your rate cards and invoices may be confidential between you and your carriers. You confirm you are allowed to upload them to Forensik.
Section 12 explains the de-identified, aggregated insights we build from service data. How we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy.
Our staff only access your organisation’s data to support you or keep the service running. Every such access is logged and you can see it in your settings.
12. Your data and de-identified insights
You own your data. Nothing in this section changes that.
Licence to us. You give us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to collect and use the data created by your use of Forensik (“service data”) to create de-identified, aggregated data.
What we do with it. We create de-identified, aggregated freight insights, for example lane and carrier benchmarks such as typical cost per kilogram or fuel levy on a route. We may use and commercialise these insights, including by offering them to others. They never identify you, your customers or your individual negotiated rates.
What we never do. We never sell or share your identifiable customer data or your raw shipment data. Your customers’ (receivers’) names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are never used in insights.
Minimum aggregation thresholds. A figure is produced only when at least 5 different organisations and 20 consignments contribute to it, and no single organisation makes up more than 50% of it. Smaller groups are dropped, not shown. The details are on our Data Use and Benchmarks page.
Contributing and opting out. Every organisation contributes service data to these insights by default. Any customer, on any plan, can opt out at any time: an administrator turns it off in Settings, and your data is left out of insights built from then on, within 24 hours. Opting out does not change your own reports and analytics. Figures already built cannot be taken apart again, because they no longer link back to you.
After these terms end. The licence in this section, and de-identified, aggregated data already created, continue after these terms end. Your identifiable data is deleted or returned as set out in section 15.
13. Our property
We own Forensik, its software, design and content, and anything we build from feedback you give us. These terms give you a right to use the service while you are subscribed; they do not transfer any of it to you.
14. Liability
We take care to build Forensik well, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, that every overcharge will be found, or that a carrier will accept a claim.
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data; and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited, where the law allows, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
You are responsible for the prices you charge your customers, including prices Forensik calculates from your rules.
15. Ending the agreement and getting your data
You may end these terms by cancelling (section 8). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if fees stay unpaid, or if we must to meet the law. Where it is reasonable we will tell you first and give you time to fix the problem.
For 30 days after your subscription ends you can sign in to export your data, or ask us for a copy. After that we delete your identifiable data, apart from what we must keep by law (for example tax records). Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle. De-identified, aggregated data already created under section 12 is kept, because it cannot identify you.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a material change we will email the administrators of your organisation and ask every user to accept the new version the next time they sign in. Changes that are not to your detriment may apply straight away.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia and the courts that hear appeals from them.
