Unmatched invoice lines
Why a carrier invoice line was not matched to a consignment, how to match it by hand, and why charges on the invoice total are shared instead of matched.
Every carrier invoice line is matched to one of your consignments by connote, then by your reference, always within the invoice's carrier. A line that cannot be matched opens an exception with the cause Unmatched, because Forensik cannot say what it should have cost. See how invoice lines are matched.
No consignment found
No (carrier) consignment found for connote (connote), or reference (reference)
You may also see "The line has no connote or reference to match a (carrier) consignment on".
Cause. None of your consignments with this carrier has the connote on the line, the reference did not point to exactly one consignment or order, and no store order fits it. Common reasons: the order or consignment has not reached Forensik yet, the store has no tracking number for it, it was booked with another carrier in Forensik, the connote was recorded differently, or the reference is on more than one order.
Fix. Open the review list from the Freight audit page. Confirm or reject any order Forensik proposes, or upload a file of order numbers and connotes (see how invoice lines are matched). You can also open the order on the Orders page and add its consignment. Orders that did not come from a store can bring their connote in through importing orders. Then select Run audit on the Freight audit page: unmatched lines are tried again. If you know which consignment it is, open the exception and use Match to connote (see the next section). An unmatched line cannot go on a recovery claim until it is matched by connote.
When to contact support. If the consignment is in Forensik with the same carrier and connote and Run audit still leaves the line unmatched, contact support with the invoice number and line.
Matching by hand failed
No (carrier) consignment has connote (connote)
Cause. You typed a connote under Match to connote, but Forensik did not find exactly one consignment with that connote for the invoice's carrier. The comparison ignores upper and lower case but must otherwise be exact. It also fails if the connote is on more than one consignment for that carrier.
Fix. Check the connote on the consignment page and type it exactly, without extra spaces or letters. Make sure the consignment is with the same carrier as the invoice. If the consignment is missing, import or sync the order first, then try again.
When to contact support. If the consignment clearly has that connote and carrier and the match is still refused.
Invoice-level charges
This charge is on the invoice as a whole and is shared across its consignments; it is not matched to one consignment
Cause. The line has no connote, no reference and no original invoice, so Forensik treats it as a charge on the whole invoice, such as a fuel surcharge on the invoice total. It is shared across the invoice's consignments pro rata to their billed freight and each share is checked against the approved rates. It cannot be matched to one consignment by hand. The part of the charge that falls on lines without a consignment stays unallocated and shows as unmatched.
Fix. Nothing is needed for the charge itself. To reduce the unallocated part, match the invoice's unmatched lines; the charge is shared again each time a line is matched. Invoice-level charges cannot be claimed in Recoveries.
When to contact support. If a line that does carry a connote or reference in the carrier's file is being treated as invoice-level. Check your column mapping first: the connote and reference columns must be mapped.
