Margin rollups
Group your freight margin by SKU, postcode, zone, customer, service or carrier, filter by date and carrier, and export the table as CSV.
Margin rollups at /rollups adds up your consignments into groups so you can see where freight makes or loses money. Every amount is summed from the ledger, in AUD and ex GST. Open it from the Dashboard tiles, from Margin rollups on the Consignments page, or directly.
Choose how to group
Select one of the buttons along the top. The page opens By carrier.
- By SKU: each consignment is split across its SKUs by rated weight. Charged uses the FORENSIK price of each line, and free freight absorbed sits on the free-freight line.
- By postcode: by delivery postcode.
- By zone: by the carrier zone the consignment was rated to. Zones belong to each carrier, so the same zone name on two carriers is not the same area.
- By customer: by the customer on each order. A consignment carrying orders for several customers is split by their lines.
- By service: by carrier service.
- By carrier: by carrier.
For how a shared consignment is split, see Mixed orders and allocation.
The columns
- Consignments: the count, with "(n invoiced)" when not every consignment has a matched invoice yet.
- Charged: what customers were charged for freight.
- Expected: the expected carrier cost from your approved rates.
- Billed: what carriers invoiced.
- Variance: billed less expected, on invoiced consignments only. A positive variance (the carrier billed more than expected) shows in red.
- Absorbed: free freight you absorbed as planned.
- Margin: charged less billed, or less expected until the carrier invoice is matched. A negative margin shows in red.
- Margin %: margin as a share of charged.
The total row at the bottom equals the sum of the consignments. Select any column heading to sort by it; select it again to reverse the order. The table opens sorted by margin, lowest first, so the biggest losses are at the top.
Filter
- Shipped from and Shipped to limit the table to consignments shipped in that date range.
- Carrier limits it to one carrier.
Select Clear filters to go back to everything. If nothing matches, the page says "No consignments shipped in this range for this carrier."
Export
Select Export CSV at the top right to download the table as you see it: the same grouping, filters and sort. The button is greyed out when there are no rows.
If the table is empty
With no filters, an empty table means there are no consignments yet. Import your orders and add their consignments; margins roll up here as they are priced and invoiced. See Import orders.
