Your dashboard
What each tile and table on the Forensik Dashboard means, where the numbers come from and which page each one takes you to when you select it.
The Dashboard at /overview (the Overview link in the menu) sums every consignment on your ledger to date. All amounts are in AUD and ex GST. Nothing on it is estimated or made up: if Forensik has no priced consignments yet, the page says "No freight on the ledger yet" and points you to the setup checklist.
The six tiles
- Freight revenue: what your customers were charged for freight.
- Expected cost: what the carriers should have charged, worked out from your approved rate cards and fuel levies.
- Billed cost: what the carriers actually invoiced, for consignments matched to an invoice line.
- Margin: freight revenue less carrier cost. For each consignment Forensik uses the billed cost where the invoice is matched and the expected cost otherwise. A negative margin shows in red.
- Open exceptions: invoice lines the freight audit flagged that nobody has resolved yet. Select it to open the exception queue.
- Recovered to date: credits carriers have given on your recovery claims. Select it to open the recovered claims. If Recoveries is switched off for your organisation, this tile is called Recovered and links to the freight audit instead.
Selecting revenue, expected, billed or margin opens Margin rollups, where you can break the same totals down.
The line under the tiles
A short line counts your consignments, how many have a matched carrier invoice, and how many cannot be priced. It also tells you how much free freight was absorbed as planned (that is already inside the margin) and how much is outstanding on open exceptions. If some consignments cannot be priced, see Cannot price orders.
What Forensik found, to date
Four separate figures from the value report:
- Freight margin opportunity identified
- Freight margin realised
- Overcharges detected on carrier invoices
- Credits actually received
They are never added together. Hover the i on each card for how it is worked out, or select Monthly value report to see them month by month. See Value report.
Margin by carrier
A table of each carrier with its consignment count, freight charged, margin and margin percentage. Select All rollups for more ways to group the figures.
Biggest losses
The consignments that lost the most money, with connote, carrier and ship date. A loss marked "not invoiced yet" uses the expected cost, so it may change once the carrier invoice arrives. Select a line to open the consignment, or All consignments for the full list. See Consignments and the six questions.
If the page does not load
You will see "Could not load the overview" with a Try again button. If the value figures fail on their own, the rest of the page still shows. If it keeps failing, contact support.
