Audited consignments and overage
What counts as an audited consignment, how the monthly count works, what overage costs on Starter and Growth, and where overage stops.
Each plan includes a number of audited consignments a month. This article explains what is counted, when, and what happens above the included number.
What counts as one consignment
An audited consignment is one carrier connote that appears on a carrier invoice you import. It is counted once in a calendar month, whatever the number of parcels on it.
- Returns count. A return on its own connote is a consignment.
- Re-ships count. A re-ship on a new connote is counted as a new consignment.
- Voided labels do not count. A label that never appears on a carrier invoice is never counted.
- Credit notes add nothing. Neither do charges on the invoice as a whole.
- A later surcharge adds nothing. A surcharge line on a connote already counted that month is not counted again.
Connote numbers are compared without spaces and without regard to upper or lower case, so abc123 and ABC123 are one consignment.
Which month it counts in
A consignment counts in the calendar month of the invoice date on the first carrier invoice that carries it. Months run in Perth time (Australia/Perth).
You can see this month's count under Audited consignments on Billing and in the Plan and usage card in Settings.
Auditing is never blocked
Forensik never stops auditing because you have passed your included number. Every invoice you import is still checked and counted.
Usage alerts
When this month's count reaches 80% of your included consignments, the usage bar turns amber and a note shows how much you have used. At 100% it turns red and tells you that auditing carries on, with overage from there.
Overage on Starter and Growth
Above the included number, each extra consignment costs:
- Starter: 30c ex GST each, above 1,000
- Growth: 18c ex GST each, above 5,000
Overage is worked out per calendar month. On monthly billing it is added to your subscription. On annual billing it is invoiced separately after the month, with GST.
Where overage stops
You never pay more in a month than the next plan's price. Overage stops at the point where your bill would pass it:
- Starter stops at 2,667 consignments, so the most a Starter month costs is A$849 ex GST, the Growth price.
- Growth stops at 11,117 consignments, so the most a Growth month costs is A$1,950 ex GST, the Scale price.
If the current month reaches that point on a paid plan, Forensik moves you up to the next plan from the start of next month. The Plan and usage card in Settings shows the plan you are moving to and the date.
Scale has no overage
Scale includes 20,000 consignments a month and has no overage. When you reach 20,000, Billing shows a note suggesting Enterprise. Auditing carries on. See Plans and limits.
During the free trial
During the free trial your count is shown against the Growth plan's 5,000, but no overage is charged.
