Forensik staff access log
Every time Forensik staff open your organisation's data it is recorded, and you can see the record in Settings. What it shows and how staff access works.
Forensik staff sometimes need to look at your organisation's data, for example to answer a support request. Every time they do, it is recorded, and you can see the record.
Where to see it
Open Settings and find the Forensik staff access card. Master Admins and Editors can see it. Each row shows:
- Date: when the access happened
- Staff role: Owner or Support
- Action: what they did, for example "Viewed customer data", "Unmasked receiver details" or "Viewed as customer (read only)"
- Reason: the reason they typed, where one was needed
The most recent 200 entries are shown, newest first. Staff names and email addresses are not shown. If no staff member has opened your data, the card says "No staff access so far."
The record cannot be changed
Entries are written to a log that staff cannot edit or delete. You do not need to switch anything on: every access is recorded for every organisation.
How staff get in
Forensik staff use a separate admin console with their own staff accounts, never customer accounts, and they must use two-factor sign-in. There are two staff roles:
- Owner: can see all customers, and can open a read-only view of the app as you see it.
- Support: can see customers, shipments, invoices and claims, with your receivers' details masked.
Receiver details are masked for support staff
Support staff see your receivers' names, phone numbers and street addresses masked. Suburb, state and postcode stay visible. To see a masked detail, a support staff member must type a reason. The unmask and the reason they gave appear in your log.
Support staff cannot export your data, and cannot change billing, rates or markups.
What staff can change
Viewing as a customer is read-only, so staff cannot change your freight data, rate cards, rules, orders or invoices. A Forensik owner can make account changes on your behalf, such as extending a trial or setting a billing arrangement. Those changes are recorded in the same log, for example "Extended the trial" or "Set a billing override".
Support requests
When you use Contact support, staff may open your data to help. The log shows when they did. If you see an entry you do not expect, contact support and quote the date and action.
